A few pics from the Lake District yesterday - SO beautiful in rain and murk: how many places can pull that one off?

Portland Bill

That old derrick never fails to amaze me it's been there some years and is quietly rusting away, I certainly wouldn't want to put anything heavy on it.

It just seems to be part of the scenery somehow, in a force 10 it's quite an impressive shot to capture!

Not the greatest photos as it was very misty and I had to do a bit of fiddling the best I could but it's an interesting grade 11 listed building on the river Fal.

Smuggler's Cottage is a beautiful thatched cottage and small tea rooms dating from the 15th century. Set in beautiful surroundings on the river's tranquil eastern bank, visitors to the area should search it out and spend some time there. Take time out to relax while soaking in the atmosphere and learning a little about the history of the area. There is also an excellent 3 hour scenic walk along the Oyster Way from Tolverne to St. Mawes worth trying out. The shingle beaches at Tolverne and Turnaware Point were used, along with the beach at Trebah Gardens, overlooking the Helford, as embarkation points for Allied troops taking part in the D-Day Landings in 1944.

The other photo is just a touch of whimsy. The east bank of the Fal is covered with oak trees that were extensively used for shipbuilding and especially in the mining industry during the 18th and 19th centuries and probably before that.

Some really beautiful skies at Sandbanks and Studland beaches last weekend; plus we saw our first bumble bee of the year in the gorseland behind the Studland sand dunes.

Took a drive along the south banks of the Forth today, it being a public holiday in Edinburgh.

Forth Bridge (now without any scaffolding - hopefully for thirty years)

It is now you have made me aware....

My mate posted it on facebook, it could well be photo chopped as most are i see now.

So difficult to tell, something i never do and i class as cheating if the picture is played with at all.

All my shots are raw as they are seen through the lens, i like to capture light morning and evening. Especialy during winter time, with the low sun you can get some cracking shot's.

In general I agree with you but I must admit I don't mind fiddling around with photos but I would normally mention it or it's fairly obvious.
