Ahh well that's another debate - as nature and the lens intended, or as you would like it to appear? :whistling:

They are stunning none the less, I liked the shopping trolley one - but then I like 'urban' scenes

I can't believe that shot won a major landscape compo, it is truly hideous. Landscape photography is about the wonders of nature (unless it is urban) the secret to HDR is creating an image that is not so obvious... Far too much tweaking here... I have been talking about it day to other photogs.. A little goes along way...

I think the rock formation on the centre right of the picture makes it work quite well. Not sure if it deserved to win really, but I didn't see all of the entries!

Got a job at the moment which involves driving around Penrith and taking photos. It's a hard life, but someone's got to do it. Anyway, Wibs and I nipped out the other day and....well....nice setting (shame about the town).

Looks over processed to me, I prefer the natural look

This was taken Yesterday (21st October) at Westonbirt Arboretum.

The heather's at it's peak here on the NYMoors too.

It rarely disappoints unless it's a very wet spell then the individual flowers go over to brown quicker.

Had a day over in the western lakes yesterday, and what a gorgeous day it was.

Views up Newlands Valley somewhere between Buttermere and Keswick, looking towards High Spy.

View from Muncaster Castle, up Eskdale towards the Crinkle Crags (with Sca Fell just behind the trees).

Only about 40 miles as the crow flies, but a 2 hour drive....worth it though.

Grabbed a couple on my way into work this morning, looks like the Autumn colours are going to develop nicely in the next few weeks:

Biggest stalactite on public display in the Northern Hemisphere, no way of showing the scale, but it's about 20ft long.

Some places you just have to snap when passing.

It's not far from me and best avoided when busy but yesterday was quiet enough by 3pm
