Signs of cold

Risk of snow in north

Temperatures will be varying across the country during the coming days. At times it could go cold enough for snow in northern Scotland. However, it is the middle of next week which draws our attention right now as from the final day of the forecast things could go colder.

Cold end of week

Better weekend

Issued: 0900hrs Monday 23rd January 2012

Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Turning much colder through Thursday and Friday of this week, with a chance of some snow in places, mainly in the north and west. Temperatures recover slightly through the weekend, but the outlook is for colder air to return to England and Wales next week. Western Scotland and Ireland probably milder.

How long for cold?

Will it snow?

Issued: 0900hrs Tuesday 31st January 2012

Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Cold conditions are set to continue through the week across southern parts of the country, although there is uncertainty as to how long these last and whether milder air will return in the new week. Further north and west conditions are expected to become milder through the weekend. An area of snow may affect some areas on Sunday.
