Not long is it.....I look forward to seeing you guys out on the plains again this year. My trip coincides with tours 2 and 3 so I may see those of you on those trips also. I bumped into the team on quite a few occasions last year.. something of a mini UK chaser convergence at times

As of now, I'm going solo again. Most of my friends who are interested can't get the time off or the money to chase. As with last year, I'll be going out and doing some serious photography on down days, and I'd imagine that's pretty boring thing to do as a group, so chasing alone is a good thing for me :D Of course, I wouldn't complain about 20 days of chasing if it's active either!

I was thinking of getting this book to read before I go...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Storm-Chaser-Pursu...6150&sr=1-1

It seems to get excellent reviews, anyone read it?

Just seen we're going in a tour bus, I was looking forward to those nice dodge 4x4's!

Anyway i'm really starting to get excited, but a bit nervous too!

Flights seem to be getting cheaper every time I check, now £395 return, which seems good to me.

Mark

We have decided to go with the 4x4 Dodge Durango or Chevvy Tahoes again this year over the bigger Tour Bus so that will cheer you up!

Here's the dodge we were in in 2007! Nick on the Left, Paul on the Right, Stuart in the Centre, Paul on the Right, Mammatus above, LP Supercell out of shot to the left, Greensburg Tornadic cell north of us :D

I hope you are on the first tour or else the beautiful Dodge will look something like this by the time you get into it :D

Even about 3 inches of rain overnight in Weatherford a few nights later didn't clean everything off :D

Just thinking seeing that tripod in the photo, do you take them with you or just buy over there? Seems an awkward thing to take.

I'm hoping for some night lightning shots if we get the chance

:rofl::rofl::rofl: Mark

Did no-one tell you that after Chasing Supercells from 3pm until 8-9pm we then position ourselves about 50 miles East of the Supercells and let them come to us, they usually produce a 3-5 Hour Lightning display until 2-3am in the Morning from an MCS Or a Violent Squall Line with Bow Echoes :shok::rolleyes:

With regards to the Tripod, dont bother taking one, we will stop in a Walmart or Radio Shack and you can pick a really good one up for $15 or about £10

Regards

That American Airlines booking system seems a bit strange. I've just gone on to check the flights again tonight and at first it was saying not available for my return flights.

After a bit of panicking I tried again, I think I used a different form or something but the same flight was now available! Total fare is about £80 more than last time though, but i've reserved it until I get my card tomorrow night, thank .... for that!

Return flight seat is 39J, where are you at on that flight Paul?

The Programme is solely about the year in the life of a Storm Chaser (Namely Stu Robinson) and is on Thursday 12th February at 2100, as you can see from the thread above his Storm Intercepts include Hurricane Gustav, Typhoon in the Far East and Some Tornado Chasing. Certainly will watch this.

Will make a note of the date...Going to watch the tornado at the Gas Station later that you lot were caught in....

Just preparing myself for any
