I would like to say I have in fact a phobia of lightning....No truthfully.....Just like roller coasters....Im terrified but thats the reason I chase them because of the fear factor....

I have had a few close calls like about 40ft over my head caught on camera......And I always say Im never doing this again...But time after time Im back chasing them...Crazy I know

Edit.Jane I cheated....I used many video cameras...Only lately Ive turned to SLR cameras..

At least with video you have a good chance of the capture....And also you can play around with the time frames..

Ive just upgraded to FHD ...a 4GB ULTRA GIVES only 30 mins of quality film...I would start with video Jane and work your way up with camera and software...

I use (software)Video mach,Pinnacle,Adobe prem

Well perhaps this needs a thread of its own? Not sure what the etiquette is for starting sub topics in this new main area, some guidance please?

Also I would like to start a sub-topic on the accuracy of LRF TStorm forecasting, what people use + how far in advance you can start thinking about storm probabilities. Again more guidance on posting please and we can get up and running!

Hi Gordie and Stu...And Andy.my god its a family http://nwstatic.co.uk/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif

I really would be frustrated if thats the case up North...I would have to move..honest

It would be nicer to live in a place where storms are more frequent but at least in winter i am in one of the best locations in Northerlies and Easterlies set ups. I also prefer snow to storms anyway. :)

I think i'll have to join this one!

Don't get much up here, but next year i'm going on the storm chase so I can't wait for that. It should make up for the last few years here, see you there dogs!

Last great storm I had was 31 August 05, quite a good one 11 September 06 but nothing memorable since.
