Apparently it was a 3.9. Epicentre was about 8 miles SE of here. Certainlt felt that one, though not a patch on February 2008's 5.2.

Suspect I noticed it here, I thought it was distant thunder - you know when you can barely hear it but you 'feel' it?
The 2008 one shook the house for a minute or two - slightly scary.

I heard it slightly here close to Buxton although it wasn't anything significant other than the radiator shaking lightly for a few seconds and if the house wasn't already quiet at that time I wouldn't even have noticed that. Almost posted on FB asking if anyone else had felt/heard anything as from previous earthquake experiences I knew immediately what it was. Woke up to the reports of the quake in Humberside and wasn't the least surprised.

Oh no, poor Italy!! After the bridge collapse in Genoa, now BBC 24 news reporting a 5.2 magnitude 'quake NW of Foggia. This isn't too far away, from where my mother's family comes, Caserta, around 25 miles north of Naples. Actually experienced a fairly slight 'quake, while I was on holiday in the Naples area, in the early 1960's, when I was about seven, very scary!!

Regards,

Tom.

Apparently the Tsunami was triggered by a landslide on the sea bed which happened after the quake which was the reason why the warning was removed. The landslide probably was triggered by the quake or may have been simply ready to go regardless either way a sad loss of life as a result.
