Definitely not something you forget from memory, back in 2008 with the Lincs quake which happened past midnight I was on the PC and it sounded like a rolling gale across the roof. Didn't think much of it at the time until a minute later everyone in the house was rushing around and telling me there'd just been a earthquake.

Crazy stuff in Bristol, was just sat at my desk and all of a sudden the chair I was sat in started shaking was crazy, truly indescribable feeling.

Didn’t feel anything here although I was walking back from the shops at the time.

Edit: lots of reports on Facebook of people feeling it around this area. Gutted! Been 10 years since the last one that could be felt here and I have to go and miss it.

.....if that was crazy where you are....the epicentre was in Cwmllynfell approx 6-7 mile north of where I was sitting in my chair !!!

Some reports locally of very minor damage ie cracks in ceilings....can't imagine what being in a big one feels like!

Was noticeable here North of Bristol. I was in my room and it felt like everything had been shuffled about all at once. Could here faint rumbling outside and it was like a large lorry going by, but instant rather than gradual.

Aye reminds me of the one we had 21.12.10, although exponentially smaller...https://earthquakes.bgs.ac.uk/research/events/cumbriaEarthquakeDec2010.html happened all of a sudden....

Remember that not long in bed ,it cracked my new plaster in kitchen .

I remember it because the kids were at son's godmother's. We were in Bed too. Of course I asked Mrs C if she'd felt the earth move!

Talk about old fashioned looks!!

My thoughts exactly. I'm in Stroud, Gloucestershire. I was in the house when suddenly all the doors and windows started to vibrate and there was a rumble akin to a heavy vehicle going past the house. I remember thinking "Earthquake" as a similar thing occurred many years ago when I was playing the piano in the top floor of a house and the piano moved. It was an earthquake then also.

How would you find accurate information about the location of the epicenter, some reports locate very close to my house, is there any reliable way of pinpointing it, or the most reliable source? I didn't notice it was in the pub watching football!

Scary things Earthquakes    the Earthquake in 2002  epicentre was the next street from mine  4.9 on the richter scale and shook everything  i believe it was a depth  of 10km.  Really dont want to experience that again

Luckily the two I've been aware of have both been modest affairs. That said I can't imagine the helplessness that would go with a serious one!
