Thankfully doesn't look substantial enough to create a Tsunami anything larger than a foot locally. However Port Vila has been roughed up from this. At the close of tourist season I'm expecting the foreign agencies to be on the wires asap. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_Vila

The tsunami waves will probably be higher than the initial 32 cm as written earlier. The tsunmi has ended in all these areas while writing. We know that islanders in Vanuatu tend to autoevacuate very fast to higher ground . 19 minutes will probably be enough to get to higher ground in Efate and other places.

waves look higher than originally said

however still does not look too bad

The 7.0 is - so far - likely the be the main shock, and the others of less magnitude would be precursers. Hopefully the 7.0 is going to be the biggest.

Edit, sorry, talking tosh as I hadn't spotted the 7.5 earlier in the day. I still hope that activity there subsides, though.

Unfortunately, there will be bigger earthquakes in this region and beyond in my opinion.

^^^^^^^

As there have been before in the 4.6 billion years this planet has been around in one form or other, and there will be in the future. Your point is? Not really the point of this thread but there will be bigger earthquakes (laws of statistics and geology mean that that's a shoo-in) but which of your various theories does this feed into?

Yes just spotted this in Vanuata double 7.0+ with a 5.9 aftershock from the first then a powerful 7.5 so that makes it the most significant since March 11th but no harm done as far as we know, but there was severe shaking reported.

There was a small tsunami of 3.4 feet

What the msm isn't picking up on is that the 5.3 happened 1/4 mile upstream from the Trinidad dam just close to Long's Canyon on the map. Had the quake struck directly under the dam itself no doubt there'd be some concerned faces right now.
