Paul S Posting on Ians Account

Hi Tom

Tuesday and Wednesday look active around the SE Ok & NE Texas area before Wednesday moves accross Arkansas again. Then a lull before more active start of next week.

Just tuned in. Can anyone tell me where the net weather boys are at the mo?

It seems that there are a line of severe storms east of Oklahoma presently

Hi

We have dark bases to our North and West at present and these should start to precipitate soon, not long before we are in the action in Arkansas.

Notice small cell has rapidly formed over Dallas, urban heat island factor may be the straw that breaks the camel's cap and activate the Texas portion of the front. The storms over OK will now have to move over the Ouachita Mtns in s.e. OK and the southern Ozarks in w Arkansas, net effect of this may be to translate the better tornadic risk zone in Arkansas south into the Texarkana to Hope area. Given the time of day and chase terrain, I might be thinking of heading towards the south rather than west at this point to intercept whatever comes out of northeast Texas.

Note there is a large tornado reported on the ground on the KS-OK border in extreme n.e. OK ... all of the tornadic warned storms are on the main cold front now but this does not rule out any cell in the area of the storm chasers at present time from going tornadic. However, would suggest that for Arkadelphia where Gorky was last reporting, the line of storms should come through around 0130z, for Sheridan more like 0230z. That's getting pretty close to sunset and so I would advise a move southwest at this point if nothing imminent shows on local radar, just to get the chance in daylight.
