It raining here in North Chelmsford, hoping it will turn to snow. There was 5 inches this morning in Gosfield, I went there and the roads were a nightmare!!

Just started snowing here in Wembley (North West London). It has been cloudy for most of the day, and what snow we had lying on the ground has gone since mid morning. It has got really dark in the past 10mins, so hopefully heavy snow on the way!!

Well i said it started snowing, and now it has stopped. If anything slightly sleety stuff is falling but it is so fine i can only see it when it has landed on my window. Still very dark and the wind has picked up so maybe some proper snow.

Does anyone know how long the snow band has lasted for in your area? eg, has it been snowing for 1 hour or less.

Great to hear eveyones posts - glad he majority seem to have got some snow.

None here in Central London overnight and I'm not holding my breath for the band of PPN approaching. Sleet or non settling snow at best.

Here in Newark Nottinghamshire we have had numerous long periods of snow, with some very heavy and big flakes falling. We had about an inch lying, although we had a short break before the next shower came. Still snowing moderately, with a covering in all the gardens, grass, and some pavements!

Well no more snow has fallen, only seems to be sleet in the wind. However it still looks even darker when i look north towards Hertfordshire as that is where the snow is coming from. The met office radar shows heavy percipitation near hertfordshire and the main band seems not to have moved far in the last hour. So maybe alot of snow for London : he hopes.

Hertford in Hertfordshire. We have got 3/4" / 2cm that have fallen within 15 minutes. I think I heard thunder but not to sure. Did you hear any thunder evanmorgan?
