Storm Chase 2008

Michael Fish

Recommended Posts

:) Only about 6 weeks to go and I have booked my flights so there is no getting out of it now!

As you probably know I will be with you on the first storm Chase of 2008. I am not an expert in tornado forecasting (only hurricanes!!) so I have enlisted the help of the University of Oklahoma who will send us some daily data as an extra aid for our highly professional 'on board' team. Hopefully that will mean we will have an above average success rate!

More from me as the time gets near.

Good to see you on here Michael. Great news that you have access to the data from University of Oklahoma from some of the top brass of Severe weather in the US - together with our Barons equipment and the nowcasts from our dedicated netweather virtual chasers in the UK - we really will be getting in the best positions this year hopefully!

No turning back now Michael... its not the tornadoes you need to be worried

about its the off road rallies you'll encounter, but fear not you'll have

Paul 'Mcrae' Shermen at the helm...! Sure to be a great season lookin forward

to the late nights here nowcasting. (Checks stock-pile of coffee).

Nice to see you finally post on here Michael.

You'll be in good hands (albeit you need to keep an eye out on that Paul Sherman.....stopping off for a steak or three can cost more than just an extra few pounds!)

:D

Certainly is getting me excited this years storm chase, a great help to have you onboard though Michael, the storm season and hurricanes give me the severe weather thirst and this spring/summer is going to be interesting for both events!

Hopefully mother nature plays ball for you all going out there.

Lovely to see the great Michael Fish on here and I hope you really enjoy your storm chase. I know I shouldn't bring it up but the hurricane comment, although you were right, made you a legend in Weather. I could watch it over and over and it always brings a smile to my face.

What do you make of this Monday's forthcoming storm?

Cannot Wait now only 50 days away. I am sure Michael is going to Love this experience and I just noticed he will be 64 years Old on the day we fly out, so I am sure we will have a few beers and a nice meal in Dallas Fort Worth on the Sunday evening of Michaels Birthday!! :)

Not too sure about the Paul "Mcrae" Sherman Title seeing as he is 6 foot under now!! :)

Lots still to do in those days with technical stuff, but flights, Cars booked so now the Countdown begins!

I'm smaller than you, Potty, so if anyone's squeezing in a suitcase it'll be me.

Lovely to see you on the forum, Mr Fish... :)

Great to see you on the forum Mr Fish

I can see this year's chase being particularly good giving the added expertise to an already talented team.

I am sure Michael is going to Love this experience and I just noticed he will be 64 years Old on the day we fly out

Something for you guys to sing on the plane...(apologies to Lennon/McCartney!)

When I get older losing my hair

Many years from now

Will you let me go off to the U.S.A.

On a storm chase, far far away?

If I get vids of a great supercell

Would you ask for more?

Will you still need me, will you still feed me

When I'm sixty-four?

;)

"Now I am older.

It's all about weather,

My mission to tornado seek.

Will the plane be due to land on time.

US greetings, bottle of wine?

My Birthday be someday,

During the chase, yay!

Not too long to go,

Will I see one,

Not get caught in one,

When I'm Sixty Four.

Phil. (Sorry Mr Fish. I was going to write a lady phone hurricane thing circa 1987 :) poem But this is as crap as it gets!)
