Interesting footage considering the impact was at an altitude of 153 nautical miles.

Anyone for a sweepstake on when a Russian satellite mysteriously develops a fault and needs to be shot down to prevent catastrophe?

My observations indicate that it was orbiting at a height

of 133 nautical miles. The Pentagon states "153 nautical miles".

Who do you want to believe?

Lapsus calami. Mutatis mutandis:

Neither. Independent sources quote 133 nautical, 153 statute miles.

Which observational method did you use, laser rangefinder, Doppler RADAR, orbital period and triangulation, telemetry interception from the SM-3 or some other method?

I used simple binoculars and stopwatch, to obtain the orbit from

positions relative to the background stars.

Top skills. Were you in the Pacific region under the orbital path at the time or did you extrapolate orbital decay from observing multiple passes at your observation position?

...and here starts another conspiracy :)

It's funny, an american guy that I work with has already suggested that the satellite was sent up for no other mission than to explode at the push of a button as it was loaded with explosives, it's all about flexing muscle and looking like their technology is highly accurate apparently :)
