Like yesterday lots of low cloud about but it does feel a lot milder out there you can certainly tell we've had a change in the airmass.

The most significant change today was a brisk WSW breeze after many days with nothing more than a slight breeze. It was dry and mostly cloudy, however there was some hazy sunshine through the morning. Max 13c.

Most notable thing today was that there was wind!

My WS2300 anemometer failed to record any wind during the previous 12 days= unprecedented in the 2 years it has been operating- I thought it must have seized up and was going to take it down and oil the thing were it not responsive to today's moderate to fresh breeze.

Cloudy and breezy throughout today, odd spot of drizzle at times to dampen the ground. Mild.

Dry yesterday again (about 2 weeks dry).

Min: 4.9c.

Max: 10.1c.

Currently: 9.5c.

Pressure: 1020 mbar, very steady.

Where are the weather warnings on the METO or NW sites for the strong winds in the North East tonight. Believe me they are stronger thn those of a couple of weeks ago when a lot of fuss was made over them. My garden is chaos at the moment, i've just been outside to check for damage and was genuinely scared by the ferocity of it. I managed to rescue a greenhouse panel that was flying around and stood both wheelie bins back up but the kiddies slide and the garden table and chairs will have to take their chances. Will they be there in the morning ???

On the way back to the house I was almost taken off my feet by a particularly nasty gust.

Has the strength of the wind been underestimated in the North East or what ??
