Based on experience with lows of similar intensity off the east coast of Canada, you could expect winds of 60 mph gusting to 90 mph over a large area and 80 gusting to 120 where the winds are channelled by topographic features.

At your location you could expect winds of perhaps 70 mph gusting to 105 mph.

As you say, this is not being accepted yet as a nailed-down forecast, so not to worry unduly at this point -- all eyes will no doubt be watching how this plays out in the next 48-72 hours.

The evolution of this low is complicated and some of the energy breaks away from a storm which is currently poised off Nova Scotia to move north into Labrador. That alone makes the forecast at this range pretty difficult.

As a fan of extreme weather I'd love something like that to come off.

but also it would cause I lot of damage as well.
