Has been a clear night with a widespread ground frost, minimum air temperature 0.3c, and the grass minimum –4.0c. Currently at 9AM reading time, sunny, clear, frosty, very icy. The frost slowly cleared during the morning and afternoon in the weak winter sunshine as the temperature peaked near 6c. That's got to be wrong. My sister lives in Bury St Edmunds and says that whilst it's breezy, it's nothing at all out of the ordinary.

Anyway, 4.2º, bright spells with a light north-easterly breeze he in the heart of Appleby.

The snow that came at 1 January is slowly thawing away... Temp +1,8'c, humidity 95%, cloudy and grey skies... forecast is mild for the whole week, 1-3'c every day with barely no difference between day and night... nooo! More snow and cold please?
