Small fly with a red body and transparent wings

I don't have a picture of it but our reception is plagued by them - with have had rentokill in who said it was a plant fly !!!! But the plants have been removed and the flies still persist! UKKKK!

Any info appreciated! B)

How big is it? Very small (1-2 mm in length) could be fruit fly Drosophila. These normally have dark body and red eyes, common around rotting fruit, got any fruit trees nearby? Many, many different types of fly of this 'ilk' mind you.

If it's bigger then it may be easier to ID as there are not too many bigger flies with a red body.

Yes it is about that long and it is driving Reception mad - thanks for that though - they were worried they might be biting flies being as when they are flattened by a newspaper they leak red blood !
