Yes, looks like places are going to be closer to -10°C than 30°C on this particular 13th of June.

Really fascinating fact this and a great thread!  Going for 12 years now!

Whare is the data accessible from? Was wondering what the latest date in May not to have hit 30C was as well as the earliest day in September?

20th May (1992) and 18th September (1926)

The record for 13th June is just 28.3C, the earliest date in the year with a lower record maximum than this is 16th May with 27.8C (1925) and the latest date is 22nd September with 26.1C (1901)

And the earliest date in the year with a higher maximum record than this  is 16th April with 29.4C (1949) and the latest date in the year is 6th October with 28.9C (1921)

The 26th May hasn't reached 30 deg

I very much doubt it.  For example, Heathrow Airport, normally one of the UK's hotspots in this type of setup, has only got to around 24C.  It's above average for this time of year (around 21C) but nowhere near 30C, and it's hard to imagine any other sites being as much as 6C warmer.

It looks like there is now only one day that has failed to reach 15C, never mind 14C: January 8 with a high of 14.9 in 1988.

The 'only date in history' is actually only based on 120 years

It's almost certain 30C was exceeded on that date in the 1800s or 1700s!

The last 20 days of June lay either side of the longest day.  13th June has not only failed to provide a daily max of 30C or more, it's also provided us with the coldest daily mean of all the 20 days in the last 50 years...with 9.6C in 1978.

(50 years includes this year....however 15th June 1971 was colder!)

This has got to be broken sometime surely!  Long range shows some decent weather for this day this year but more like low/mid 20s, not near 30c.. Still over a week away though..

could be this year, SE anyway

Met Office forecasting 26C at this stage for somewhere like Heathrow....but that will be after a string of warm (mid 20s) days so maybe that has the potential to be a bit higher yet.
