Well, gee, what a day of weather :) !!

Started bright but showery and then from about 10.00 until 15.00 there was persistent heavy rain which, between 12.00-14.00, was particularly torrential with localised flooding. There is 27mm in the gauge which was emptied before the rain started! It brightened and then became sunny for a few hours, but is cloudier again now and looking thundery to the SW where radar shows more heavy showers.

Max 14c, 12c now.

Moderate rain since 1pm this afternoon. The odd heavy burst. 27mm so far and still raining as the rainband is starting to pivot over us.

Constant rain from 12:30 - 22:30 today, with an inch falling in total. Stopped for now, but I expect it to resume overnight, with very low pressure an indication of more drama to come. Wouldn't want to get used to it, but after the drought that was April, you can't say we don't need it...

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?
