Started the day in Decatur (Tx) and looked at morning models which showed another mess in West Texas, so once again we played the warmer moist air to the east of the line, hung around Jacksboro (Tx) playing some football as the temps climbed to 80f.

We started to see cells fire around Abilene and watched these move North towards Archer City. We stopped on the way and this is when we encountered our 1st Friend of the day.

Around 4pm the cells started to get a lot healthier and one of these cells just North of Archer City went briefly Supercellular, we spotted a Funnel Cloud but this quickly dissipated, we then found a great view over Lake Kickapoo.

We watched another approaching Shelf Cloud over the water, Waterspout would have been nice at this point

Like the previous day, the shelf was advancing so we took up position about 10 miles south east of Witchita Falls

and met our next friend who was about to be hit by the Shelf cloud

post-24-1178779969_thumb.jpg - This one is a bit friendlier than the Spider

post-24-1178780009_thumb.jpg post-24-1178780030_thumb.jpg - More Shelf Clouds

We then headed North East to get into position for the Night Lightning Show and took the obligatory Tourist Pics

One thing to remember over here is that the most amazing photos come just when you aren't expecting them. Some of the best photos that we've had have been on the days when I thought nothing would happen.

Did you ask Boris the Spider permission to take the pic he doesn't seem impressed. :):)

I like the clouds over the lake you just manage to get the reflection in.
