May 1st was a great Chase day for the Netweather Chase Team and we saw our 1st Supercell of the trip. We blasted south from our overnight position of decatur and chose a target of Lampassas. Grabbed Lunch and the 1st and only storm of the day innitiated about 50 miles to our North weat moving towards us. We blasted west on Highway 29 towards Llano, the Supercell was now just to the North of us, we had a great south road option and let this slow moving beast follow us, we then had a great chase on red dirt roads and through creeks of standing water. Stopped sporadically on the way and saw ragged Wall clouds and areas of rotation, the College of Du Page tour bus rolled along and at one point about 30 people were on a tiny Texas road in Gillespie County.

We finally moved towards Frederickburg and shot Lightning before eating at Chillis for a well deserved Beer and Fajitas. One funny point in the trip was when we were watching a Wall Cloud and suddenly Ian shouted "Yes" we thought a Tornado was on the ground only to be told Liverpool had just beaten Chelsea

On the group photo, I am nearest, with Stewart and Ian behind in that order. Interestingly, the SUV you see driving down the road pulled up and we met another chaser called Keith, from Austin. He's the guy who advised us on a location for the lightning photography. We bumped into him again later whilst photoing the storms from the east of Fredericksburg. A really nice guy

Bit of a Bonus this, see if you can spot what I found when looking through my 1,200 pictures that are uploaded, have only been through a fraction of them

I think there were a few occasions that afternoon/evening in the Texas Hill Country where I thought I saw lowerings from the storm's base.

Nice find!!

How many pics did you actually take in total Paul?

About 1600 Lou, Stewart took about 4000 pictures, have had a boring night so decided to upload a lot of them and see what ones to delete and what ones to store etc, just goes to show Nick you have to have eyes everywhere!

Netweather Chase Team sees a Supercell and Tornado / F Cloud on there very 1st Chase day. Made me a lot happier!
