Personally i will believe that we are about to get Atlantic lows when i see them.

One thing i have learnt on NW is all about High pressures persistence.

I feel we could be in for a drought on the South Coast before very long. Up North the lows hitting will be weakened somewhat by the High pressure influence IMO.

Anybody any thoughts on this?

Being a Northerner i love rain naturally, with the proviso that its once a week and heavy ;)

Morning Rusty

Believe me , it is also bone dry around these parts too. Since the beginning of March i have recorded around 16mm of rain with JUST 1mm of that falling this month so far. The ground is bone dry , even when i put the hose pipe on , by the following morning thats dried up too .. at presant the water i put onto the garden isnt going know where. We really could do with a few days of rain [good heavy rain infact]

Hi Nigel, shocked that you up there are so dry. It seems we are all in for an early drought perhaps, or is it the dreaded "Summer has come too early" situation?

I hope this is not the case ether way.

Good luck with the garden.

I have recorded 0mm of rain so far this month. I think we had some light drizzle one morning earlier in the month but it barely wet the ground.

Hi.

The weather station is broken yet again, this is the 4th weather station I have used in the last 5 years, so until a new unit arrives there will be no weather data, Sorry.

The salt is the big problem in this location, hope to be back on in the next week or so.

If nothing else, this thread illustrates, by way of its title, the way in which the modelling consistently defaults to west-east mobility in the medium term (T+168-T+240), which fails to materialise. Seems to me to be very similar to the way colder incursions in winter are often progged at the T+240 range and fizzle into nothing, or at the very most a much less severe shorter lasting cooler spell than was originally modelled. 17 days later and no 'Return for the Atlantic Lows' - a surprisingly long period of fair weather for England and Wales :)

what kind of wind speed would that have prouded?

Sustained of 39-46mph in the showers here gusting to 60mph possibly... 70mph in most exposed parts by the coasts in the SW not as I can find anything about it but it was very windy and cold that day here with gales.

Just spoke to OH who is on the west coast of Ireland (County Clare). Regular gusts in excess of 40mph this morning.

Not sure if it may hit you later, cookie. Usually what we get on the west of Ireland hits you later.

Nigel may have some info.
