Been some amount of snow here today settling during the shower then melts when sun comes out again but some very heavy snow indeed and strong winds causing blizzards which is already starting to cause some travel disruption to flights etc.

Very Heavy Snow showers settling in. Had a 1hr spell which stoppped about 10 minutes ago which has resulted in lying snow. This stopped and the sun came out. This lasted 5 minutes and a very heavy shower has started again. I cannot see a break in the cloud, so it could be another long one :clapping:

Heavy blizzards again after a few hours of few/ little showers.......snows sticking better now the nasty sun has gone away! :clapping: Temp is a rather chilly 0.4oC, and thats not taking into account the wind chill, which is still pretty brisk to say the least!

Had 1 heavy squally snow shower which gave a dusting wind was gale force which veered more WNW at 4.30pm followed by 2 shorter blustery snow showers which blown off the roof, classic NW type day despite the wind being mainly west and the

dry snow impressive. :clapping:

Temp now 0.8c and clear with snow showers on the horizon.

Other than a sleet shower at about 3pm the weather here has been mundane to say the least but it is great to hear all these reports of some lying snow,my turn will come later tomorrow so the camera is at the ready.

Starting to develop a covering now, showers seem to be more frequent, heavier, and proper snow. This is one from out of the back door ten minutes ago :

Also had at least one rumble of thunder.

Here's one of a shower passing earlier today :

All in all an excellent weather day so far toady :clapping:

Hi Carinthian

Guide it through the Cheshire gap towards Burton after you’ve done with it mate, having said that we have done very well for spectacular weather here today, plenty of heavy snow showers and a temporary blizzard around 3:30 this afternoon which gave white out conditions.

hI pAUL,

It quite an intense and widespread storm. Orange flashes, loud thunder, hail and now snow. A white out as I speak. Looks to be heading your way.. should be easily tracked on the radar.
