Either there was a very localised fohn effect around here today, or my thermometer has gone off on one :wallbash: . It's recorded a max nudging 14c today, while none of the local Met stations have recorded higher than 12c! It has been accurate in relation to the comparisons I do daily with Lyneham, Boscombe Down, Larkhill & Yeovilton.

Anyway, what I do know is we've had an unsettled, blustery day with sunshine and showers.

Temp now 10c and it's spotting with rain ahead of the next front.

A dry day with the early morning cloud breaking by late morning to allow sunny periods for the rest of the day.

The snow thawed steadily during the day and by 1800 there was about 15% cover remaining, 50% was lost by early afternoon.

At 1800 we had 7 oktas cumulus, alcumulus and cirrus. The wind was 22 mph SW.

feels quite warm outside, probably due to having a week with temperatures below 4C! currently cloudy, drizzle and 9°C
