Nobody ever answers me on here  Can anyone explain how it is that people are saying snow will continue all day in the midlands if the radar shows the showers dying out?

caus at the moment it is starting to die out although the back edge does appear to have a sting with it so people could continue to get snow

Right guys im back in from the cold. It has only now in oxford effectively stopped snowing. There are tiny flakes coming down, but barely worth mentioning. We have had almost 10 hours non-stop snow, and snow depths waver between 10 and 20cms depending where you are. I have just been involved in an epic snowball fight on our lawns for 2 hours (of which i have photos which i will post shortly) and over the lawns there was easily 15cms, insome places more. unbelieveable stuff. And it looks like we might just get one more smaller band later. But honestly, its incredible how, when it looked like the band had cleared us around 7 or 8 this morning, then all these other bands started popping up and heading for us. While the main band stalled. Weve really hit the jackpot here. Temp is currently -0.7C

Snow porn, O joy O joy O joy, we have about 3-4" here in Market Harborough not quite the blizzards and snow drifts i remember as a kid in 87 but never the less a good enough effort , so much so that I feel moved to make my first post having been a lurker for some time. The past week has made fasanating reading someone should make a film with all the characters that keep this message board so interesting playing starring roles eg Teits and Nick Sussex not to mention West Is Best.

By the way does anyone no if West had any snow :rofl:

Well considering it's a SW flow I reckon you've got a fair bit to go yet. I'm on N Oxon/S Warks border so what i've got, you'll get. It's still coming down well here with no signs of slowing up or thawing, easily 10-12 cm+

Enjoy !!!!!!!

what is left is lighter stuff with the odd heavier burst, still around though...Well I'v been out in it and had 2 hours of coinsistant moderate/heavy snow, just had big wetter flakes for a while, unbelievable, easing off a bit now as expected. 8-9cm, though it would have been more if the snow was a bit dryer.

it's dying off up here in Nottingham - we have not actually got enough to make a snowman with. What has fallen on the roads has melted, and a little while ago the sun was trying to make an appearance in the clouds. We have not had big "bedfeather"flakes. It's been rather fine drizzley stuff but it's covered the rooves.

Left weather actual, where it should be, but, just to let people know - Oxfordshire got dumped on! 4ins easy. Even Abingdon received the same. Stopped snowing at 1100am, now starting again, but very light, OAT -1c. No thaw

yes this newly started snow is pretty steady though. Its light but its falling fast and its reasonably dense. And indeed, there is no thaw whatsoever.
