Peter, How far are you from Inverness Castle, the webcam looks like there has been some (wet) snow there, much better than than the sleety rain we've had down here.

Hi Jack. I can see it from here, it's probably no more than 100 metres away.

The snow you can see is not wet btw. It's too cold for that. But, it is only about 2mm deep! The washing is all frozen onto the line.

du, I'm really quite disappointed by this weather. All the showers have been of rain with some sleet.. they've been pretty heavy and persistent too. Temps 2.9C at the mo.

Very dark, ominous cloud coming my way over Mynydd Fach (400m) .. expecting some snowfall soon!

Sorry about that Peter, It's just the snow wasn't that thick on the webcam on the grassy area in front of the castle, perhaps saying wet was the wrong word. Hopefully you'll get more during the evening.

Current Conditions

Temps 2c

Cloudy but Dry for the minute

Been "Sleety Raining" for most of the day,

Think I can safely write off any chance of snow showers here in D&G 2nite, there were some showers in the region earlier, but they were all to the west of me all the higher hills are white tho.

We have had heavy snow showers on and off all afternoon. yet we only have about 3cm of lying snow.

Strong winds during the showers make it look worse than it probably is. Current temperature is -2'C

Welcome to Net-weather jailender.

It's good to someone else from "up here".

Not much snow down here at all - maybe 3mm.

after phoning my mummy she said that they are snowed in for the night!! they live just along the coast from peterhead in the northeast of scotland.

nothing to report here in newcastle although it is very cold with high wind chill. rather frustrating as i can see some big anvil headed showere drifting down the coast just out to sea..

(Reporting from about 8 miles SE from Newcastle)

1 snow flurry at 3pm, at a temperature of 3C so the snow didn't settle.

Chance of snow cover for tomorrow if the showers actually come in off the North Sea at some point (temp 1.8C, but warmed by the sea, so temperatures should drop markedly if any showers do affect us)- however, I have more than a sneaking suspicion that the showers will remain stuck offshore.

Catching the edge of the showers inland in Wiltshire saw there be some sleet at around 1700 as I was walking to a carol service!

Hope those in S.Wales come this way and don't skirt over Somerset!
