That's an amazing amount of spotless days. There is a report on spaceweather.com showing a large hole in the sun's atmosphere. I wonder what if there will be any affect on the sun's spotless run.

I've read somewhere that coronal holes are more common when the sun is spotless so we should see them quite frequently in the coming months and years.

sunspot number is 22 for two sunspots that makes both 11 as I believe that is the lowest we can go for one area. Tomorrow should be blank!!

Allowing for the percentage figure to increase a bit then 2018 is looking at a total exceeding 220 days which is firstly the highest since 2009 but also puts us in 10th-15th place in the most spotless years on record.

Nuisance sunspots continue to appear. Until a couple of weeks ago it looked good for achieving 100 spotless days in June but now I am starting to wonder if it will have to be pushed to July.

I can't see us getting to 200+ days this year. When there have been spots, they've been hanging around long enough to keep the spotless count down.

It's been nearly two weeks between spotless day's, we haven't been able to string a spotless run along for that amount of time yet.

No update today on Spaceweather but SILSO has the sunspot count today as zero, as well as Solarham.net.
