If we can get rid of this sunspot (mid strength - C class flares right now) then it looks we should go quiet on the north side of the sun. There's a chance we may get one on the south side though.

Mother sun, please help our warming planet!

Sunspot is breaking up so we should go spotless again soon. May have to monitor the south side for something coming round.

The current one is dying, we may have one coming round the southern side though.

The sun has woken up unfortunately. It's been ages since the last spotless day.

Aye she's woken up but not very active as yet despite the pesky sunspot. Flux Density remains low although slight increase since the turn of the year.

AURORA SEASON BEGINS: Around the Arctic Circle, sky watchers have been waiting months for the midnight sun to fade away--just enough to see auroras again. Last night it happened. "She's back! The first auroras of the season have appeared here in Oulu, Finland," reports Thomas Kast, who took this picture of the display.

Note how the difference between observed and adjusted is changing as the earth's orbit round the sun changes duty to its elliptical nature. i.e. we're getting closer to the sun.
