MAGNETIC CRACK SPARKS RARE BLUE AURORAS: Yes, there really are cracks in Earth's magnetic field. One of them opened on Feb. 18th, sparking some of the strangest auroras in years. First, the night sky turned blue over the Lofoten Islands of Norway:

Just looking through the historical record and assuming 2020 is declared solar minimum (forecasts seem to be around April) the winters of 1811 and 1824 are the most relevant next year since they also followed weak peaks.
