Almost, but not quite. 268 is the SIDC count, so you need to use the current SIDC count to compare. The current number of 249 spotless days on spaceweather.com is the Boulder count. The current SIDC count is 243 (190 up to the end of Sep then 29 for Oct and 24 in Nov days since then). So Dec 21st or so, assuming no spots appear.

Do you know why there is a difference of 6 between the two counts?

Different network of observers. SIDC had 20 or so fewer spotless days the last time I looked. Some of the spots counted were very weak and very short-lived.

WALKING THE DOG IN NORWAY: On Nov. 27th, a minor stream of solar wind brushed Earth's magnetic field. In Tromsø, Norway, minor is often enough. "While out walking the dog, this amazing display appeared in the skies near my home," reports aurora tour guide Marianne Bergli.

I wonder what will be the total of sun spotless days at the end of the year.

Q3 and Q4 to date would suggest over 280, 281 is what we need to take third in the all time spotless years.

I think that they forget to update the sun spotless count or it could be due to computer problems.  It will probably be updated tomorrow.

I believe we will best 2008 of 268 spotless days, as I believe we are deepening further into the minima.
Thermosphere not as cold as 02/2009.....but let’s see whet happens Feb 2020.....as it’s not far off now.  Very interesting times indeed

Thermosphere not as cold,,,yet, but mesosphere coldest since records began in mid nineties, and stratosphere is so cold the arctic stratosphere is reaching minima of -85c creating polar stratospheric clouds in Sweden.
