Quite  infact  we could get quite close   to  2009        my guess is around 250

I'm going to put it out there on a hunch and say no more sunspots for the rest of the year and well into 2020, maybe even the majority of 2020 spotless if not the whole year i.e. the beginning of a Dalton type minima

ARCTIC AURORA SEASON BEGINS: They're back. Auroras are reappearing around the Arctic Circle as the Midnight Sun finally dims. "After nearly five months of intense sunlight, the sky above Sweden's Abisko National Park has darkened and Northern Lights have returned," reports Chad Blakley, whose automated webcam captured these auroras just after midnight on August 24th:

Probably been posted before    but can we get on the list?.

I'm fairly sure we've had nearly 40 days blank early this year, and maybe another near the 30 mark. We've had about 4 or 5 occasions of over 20 days too. The list should be updated to reflect this, that is unless they use another firm of count that recorded a tiny spot and thus broke the sequence.

We didn't according to the SIDC count and that's what the table shows, so no update required. It's all moot anyway; see the 'Word of Caution' section here:

A CRACK IN EARTH'S MAGNETIC FIELD: There was no geomagnetic storm on Aug. 26th. Auroras appeared anyway. With no warning, a crack opened in Earth's magnetic field, allowing solar wind into our planet's magnetosphere. Alan Dyer photographed the resulting glow from southern Saskatchewan in the Grasslands National Park.  "It was quite photogenic," says Dyer. "To the naked eye, the display was diffuse and pale, but my camera picked up the colours with no trouble." Auroras like these are called "deep sky auroras" because they require some exposure with a camera for full effect.
