Seems to be conflicting info. For continuity purposes I stick with spaceweather.

3 spotless day's as you say.

1st was 11(the lowest number there is I believe)

2nd 0

3rd 11

4th 0

5th 0

6th 0

so yes 3 but could easily been 6 and would have been if laymans sunspot count was still happening

Yep totally agree, but for whatever reason, they seem to count every tiny little dot.

So we've now reached 2016's total. Let's hope the runs get longer & we surpass 2017's total by August.....

50% of this year so far is spotless. That's impressive!

Hopefully it will continue or even get better.

Hopefully we can reach the 200 mark before the end of the year.

For me this hopefully will give science a real chance to observe true effects of a deep minimum which hopefully will give us a better insight into how solar cycles effect our planet and thus projections based on fact rather than theoretical models

Because we want a re-run of 2009/10 but colder!

Anyway, today is another spotless day to add to the list.

IF our winters start to get colder again this will be very interesting......

Current Stretch: 10 days
2018 total: 38 days (53%)
2017 total: 104 days (28%)
2016 total: 32 days (9%)
2015 total: 0 days (0%)
2014 total: 1 day (<1%)
2013 total: 0 days (0%)
2012 total: 0 days (0%)
2011 total: 2 days (<1%)
2010 total: 51 days (14%)
2009 total: 260 days
(71%)

Is there another source other than space weather that shows the historic count (using the same method) that goes back further?

I wondered that, it would be great if there was a place where you can see 100+yrs of spotless counts.

The laymans sunspot count did that until the end of last year and certainly shows as below comparisons against older cycles

Yeah, he only updates quarterly now, I don't think he's got the time required to update monthly, so less info coming from that site.

I was hoping there was a simple list like on Spaceweather going back 100+ years.

Very good! Do you by any chance know what is the longest spell of spotless days in the current cycle?

Thank you Steve, I guess that was at the beginning of the cycle.
