Kp6 forecast for around 10pm BST tomorrow.

Doubt that's enough for anything this far south.

Currently Kp6. Don't know how long lived this event is and may be over by the time it gets dark.

Probably worth keeping half an eye out if you have clear skies. Pretty rubbish here just now.

Cloud cover was rubbish here overnight but have seen a nice pic from Dornoch. Activity dropped as darkness fell but picked up again after midnight.

yes spotless tomorrow or day after. F10 flux after being up to 120+ is now back down to low 70's I think we may well see these sudden spikes in activity in an otherwise sleepy sun over the next 3/4 years

Old region 2676 has just rotated onto the east limb in the last few hours, but seems to be waning so a chance of a spotless day. The huge regions 2673 and 2674 should reappear around the 23rd so we will see what remains of them.

Extensive cloud cover over the UK tonight and chucking it down here.

Aural oval looking good and magnetometers kicking off for anyone lucky enough to have clear skies. Possible aurora down as far as Scottish Borders, maybe beyond.

We haven't had a spotless day in ages!

Getting close though...

latest_1024_HMIIF.jpg

the recent CME suggests activity on the far side, lets hope that fizzles out before it makes it round to us. we're still doing better than 2010 so lets hope this is the suns last flourish before it goes to sleep for another historical minimum....
