Good to see the aurora season kicking off. Solarham has Kp6 forecast for later this week. Always a bit hit or miss but I'll be keeping a watch anyway.

I can see a low solar signature there - even more startling is the change in our Z500 summer pattern since 2007.

Kp 6 kicked off this afternoon. Starting to enter full darkness here and cloud cover is fair to minimal looking north. Camera batteries being charged as I type.

Geomag forecast is unsettled for the next couple of days. Here's hoping!.

It was pretty cloudless here but still didn't see anything despite looking several times.

Kp currently 5 forecast Kp6 tomorrow ( Solarham)

Heading off tomorrow up north to Kildonan for a week, hopefully far enough away from this east coast murky rubbish. As well as the gold pan, the camera is going with me.

Fat chance of seeing anything here tonight.

It's not great considering i've never seen (let alone photographed) the aurora before, plus having to contend with clouds, moonlight, and urban light-pollution. But these 2 Aurora Pillars I managed to get on camera here in the Peak District. Definitely Aurora as they were stationary for a few minutes fading in and out as the clouds were passing-by underneath plus also seen pictures of them taken at the same time in Ayrshire.

Hoping the clouds fizzle-away soon, as KP is forecast to go back up to 8 around 2am our time.
