It was somewhat cooler during the second half of October 1921 although the 18th and 19th were pretty warm days. It was until 1969, the warmest October on record and it was a fairly dry month.

The CET mean for the period 4th-11th October 1921 was 17.4

Really interesting!

Can you believe it The Times used the phrase "Sun-worshippers." Some things don't change.

It's interesting to see the reaction to unusual warming without the idea of "global warming."

July, 1921 was the warmest month on record at Toronto (1840 to present), with a mean daily max of 31 C. September was also much above normal, and October somewhat above normal. After that, the long run of very warm weather (from about April 1920) petered out to a long series of near normal weather. Sound familiar? The end of March 1923 was record cold for several days. There wasn't another significantly warm year until 1931.
