An historic September storm hitting Alberta Canada and Montana, US. It's been ongoing for 3 days now.

Browning, Montana has reached 4 feet of snow (120 cm) and Waterton in southern Alberta, Canada has hit 100 cm. Quite a storm. Here's some totals in Canada from lastnight - add on 10-20 cm on top of this...impressive even for those parts...

Its def a southern alberta affair - those upsloping snows can really accumulate. I witnessed this in May 2008 when we had over 2 feet of snow - but that was in less than 24 hours. I'm seeing amazing pics coming out of Waterton

Mentioned on the BBC TV week ahead weather last night. Denver going from 27C sunny to -2C snowing in the space of 12 hours. Imagine if you fell asleep on the sun lounger in the garden.

My daughter has messaged that she has had her first snow of the season today near Kokomo, Indiana. So Halloween snow for her. Only a week or two ago they were up in the high twenties.
