Heading to Halifax Nova Scotia this evening after three wonderful but cold sunny days in Reykjavik... still 21-24c in sunny Nova Scotia... winter wear today to summer wear tomorrow... Driving around Cape Breton next week as a few festivals on... and it's Canadian Thanksgiving too...

Strange how everything is burnt but the fire hydrant is yellow and unscorched.

The hilton sign and the flag poles and flags also seem to have withstood the heat.

Fire has its own rules but that video is jaw dropping.and a stark reminder of mother natures power.

New Fire Danger Threatens to Worsen Most Disastrous Wildfire Season in California History

Quote

A record-breaking heat wave will build over Southern California over the weekend and peak on Tuesday, bringing triple-digit temperatures that could set marks for the hottest temperatures ever recorded so late in the year in the Los Angeles area. Accompanying the heat will be the notorious Santa Ana winds, which will bring a multi-day period of critical fire danger, Saturday through Tuesday.

There's a Major Halloween Storm Bearing Down on New England

The National Weather Service says the storm could be among the strongest ever recorded during the month of October in New England.

Quote

Even though snowflakes are starting to fall in some places, this year's monstrous hurricane season isn't quite over yet.

There's increasing confidence among weather forecasters that a late-season tropical storm could morph into a scary Halloween-eve rain and windstorm for the northeast United States. The forecast is frightening: The National Weather Service says the storm could be among the strongest ever recorded during the month of October in New England.

From Minnesota to Central America, the dangerous components are coming into place. On Friday afternoon, the National Hurricane Center upgraded a swirling mass of clouds off the northern coast of Honduras to Potential Tropical Cyclone Eighteen—a technical way of saying that a tropical storm is in the late stages of formation and headed toward land.

Looks very much like it but it's not from the deep low but from a small low that arrives from the north west

A well explained blog, knocker, for weather amateurs like me.

It's a very informative site and handy that it's in the public domain. At least for the moment.
