Another warm spell sets in for BC and Alberta, today (meaning Thursday) will see 20-23 C and Friday 27-30 C, then a gusty cold front moves through rapidly on Saturday and holds temperatures down to about 15 C, followed in Alberta by near freezing by Sunday morning, highs only 7-10 C north and 12-15 C south. This will be more of a glancing blow here on the coast where it will stay closer to normal values after the front moves through on Friday evening.

Has been a lovely day here on Wednesday (still is actually) about 19 C and sunshine.

1.3C this morning, with some light rain (snow?).

1.4 mm.

If you want to see some snow (I am not sure, but think there will be), just have a look at the webcams in the territory :)

http://meteowhitehorse.ca/wxwebcam.php.

It is still dark, but should be fine in one hour !

Good morning,

Not too cold this night with -0.7C. Expected high of 8/10C with sunny conditions.

It froze on all the territory apart Burwash this night, with temperatures below -10 in the far north (-13 in Ivvavik).

We got northern lights here, not very strong, but it is always magic:

Here is also a picture of the mountains at sunrise, taken from our house:

Wow!

I was going to ask what the aurora was like there after seeing the aurora graphic on your website, and then you post that!

Is it like that every night when it is dark enough and there are clear skies?

it depends on solar activity and, for sure, we need to have dark skies.

This winter should be pretty good for northern lights here with the solar activity.

Here are some pictures I took on the Alaska Highway between Whitehorse and the lake of Kluane. Sunny conditions, only 2C at 1000m high.

You can see St-Elias Mountains, I love the colors at this season with blond grass, first snow on the peaks, glaciers,

Nice pics

Its been indifferent here but warm - 20oC yesterday with broken sunshine

Whats amazing is we have no snow on the mountains. Its not been this late in town for me and this is the 7th winter now

Forecast for a few rainy days so if it gets cold enough there will be snow on the peaks but it doesnt feel right having grey mountains rather than white in October

I think we are forecast weather like that here for the next few days - snow level down to around 1900 metres

Weekend for Edmonton is similar to here just a few degrees warmer - looking like sunny and avergae temps around mid teens - we will see. I'm sure Thanks giving last year it was snowing??

Hi everybody,

Mild day with windy and mainly cloudy conditions. Low of 2.7C, high of 11.5C.

Upcoming days should be wetter and cooler, rain and snow should be back as well as frost in the nights.

To end this post, here is a picture I took this night:

These were the most beautifull auroras since I settled two years ago !
