Good morning everybody,

Not so cold this morning as the days before with low of 0.4C.

I just want to share with you this morning an outlook of the upcoming winter here in south Yukon: it should be colder and drier than the normals:

Most of the snow on the south falcing slopes have gone but with temps at -2oC this morning the snow on the north facing isnt going anywhere - wweather has chnaged though - clear blue skies and warmer temps - looks like we could have a week in the 20'S after all. Hard frost this morning though

Hi,

Low of 3.7C, today it should be rainy with a high of 10C.

Temperatures around the territory between 1 and 8C.

About the forecast, cooler temperatures are expected after Friday, with periods of rain, rain and snow showers.

The Farmers Almanac is out for Canada and the US

Here is the link to the Canadian - they were pretty spot on last year stating it would be warmer and much snowier in the 2nd half of the season for us here

http://www.farmersal...inter-forecast/

It states that it will be much colder this year and there will be 2 distinctly active storms front - 1 over the great lakes region and the other the pacific with BC and western canada in for a lot more snow than usual

Roger - you could be seeing a lot more snow this year and colder temps

For CM and myself I think we will see much colder weather and more storms

Philippe I predit a frigid winter with less precip

Its just around the corner now - although temps yesterday were 26oC here and at 9am this morning it was 19oC - very very nice

As ECMWF (see what I posted this morning)!

With a weak to moderate Nina, I totally think it is possible....

However, with no summer, this winter may be harsh, specially if it comes early !

How bizarre is that - now I heard someone on the news say it was a classic chinook that brought the warm conditions but not sure if that impacted you guys up there or if it was more local

We had what was forecast - 26oC on Friday, 28oC on Saturday and 24oC on Sunday...looks like cooling down this week but warming up again by the weekend....what a summer/fall

Yes was a bizaare few days weather wise..i was driving to Jasper Friday morning..it was 5c in Hinton..10 miles down the road as you came into Jasper national park the temp suddenly jumped all the way to 24c this was at 8.30 in the morning,,must been that chinook you were talking about as the wind was really blowing too.

As for the heat yesterday like i said 34c at 3pm by 5.30pm it had dropped back to 21c..i think must have been a bubble of hot air that flooded the city for few hours from lunchtime to tea time.
