Snow Wintry/precipitation Reports 20th-22nd March 06

Just started to snow very lightly in Aberdeen. But looking at he met office radar, there will be more to come.

Snow started this afternoon. Home now and it's just starting to settle on the grass. Very dark and gloomy.

It has been snowing here since about 1.30pm - light continous snow until about 5.20pm it has stopped for now. Nothing settling.

We did also have a snow shower yesterday evening (21st March).

Whilst walking to work this morning (about 10:00am) I was sure I saw snow-flakes (or maybe soft hail)

falling for a few minutes.

It was a small passing shower with spots or rain with sporadic outbreaks of small snow-flakes mixed-in.

Can anyone else confirm whether this was a wintry shower (this is in the Westbury-on-Trym area)?

Occasional heavy snow showers this am which have now petered out. Bit milder today also.

Becoming increasingly overcast throughout the day, giving way to light snow which has been falling for about an hour. Nothing lying yet.

Snow actually becoming light/moderate and starting to lie.

Awoke to a covering of snow this morning 1-2cm and a few heavy snow showers early this morning. Mostly melted through the day, but this evening we have had a few small flakes and looking very grey.

Update on Aberdeen.

Been snowing with increasing intensity since 5pm.

About 1cm of snow lying. And it is still falling heavily.

Persistant moderate snow - everywhere white with a decent covering now.

Heavy snow here now, a good covering will report back later with amount.

Ok just come back in and there is a good 1" of nice white fluffy snow everywhere and it is still snowing.

More snow for you guys up North. Makes me jealous living down here in the central belt. Everywhere north of Loch Lomond is pretty much getting snow just like the Northernlies earlier this month. Why could the snow be a 100 miles further south. Anyway in Glasgow we had snow for about 30 minutes. Was quite heavy but didnt lie.

Been Snowing since 3pm, about 2" here on the coast, a fair bit more further inland, roads are crazy....just like normal, NO GRITTERS ANYWHERE!!!!!!!!

Well we ended up with 4" on the ground overnight, but it had nearly all disapeared by lunch time today.
