I have just noticed about dial up and not sure why it say that but yes you are correct i am on broadband.

do you have a program that dials up when your pc starts, and do you have a router?

I do have a router but not in use at mo and no their is not another programme that dials.

Oh Well my fears are back :( I knew i would have probs getting it online looks like may just have to have it my pc and not online. :doh:

What I am guessing Ozzie is that perhaps your free Lycos account is not allowing direct FTP connections - sometimes free services such as this are not ideal for uploading of frequent weather data.

That Lycos FTP server isn't even getting as far as asking you for your username and password.

your ISP may have free webspace that you could try FTPing to? Is it BTinternet?

Hi Martyn you could be right it used to allow it however and yes i am on BT broadband.

is it benificial to have a paid website as i do want to have a website dedicated to weather and with out any probs.
