More snow overnight in Aberdeem ans nearly a blizzard as I type this. There is easily a foot/12 inches/30cm lying. This means about 10cm fell overnight.

I dont know what defines thundersnow. But at 08:00 it was still snowing when there was a very large bang. Radio went off for a second, The Northsound 1 DJ heard it and they are saying it was a thunder strike. Sounded like thunder.

Since then another 3 thunder strikes preceeded by lightning. And still snowing heavily.

In the brief lull in snow, I tried to clear our front path. There is at least 6inches/15 cm of fresh snow that fell overnight. Overall it is about 35-40 CM/14-16 inches of snow in the front garden, slightly more in the back garden (doesnt get a lot of sun).

That was without doubt the heaviest shower in the last few days! Near white-out conditions for a time and roads in a right mess again!

Down to -6.2 last night. Currently -1.8 and it's snowing like a bugger. Been on this past half hour or so and has covered everywhere. Before there was only the frozen remains of yesterdays snow. Weather warning out for NI. B)

Heavy snow started about an hour ago, wind NE, thermometer is about -2C. Really chucking it down! 3cm deep level snow on hard surface.

Probably had about another 5cm between 6am and 8am. Now just 0C and blue sky - lovely.

More snow overnight I would guess the average depth would be about 30cms now, it is lovely snow all powdery. Currently lovely and sunny, perfect sledging weather!
