Snow/wintry Precipitation Reports 28th Feb 2006

It's been snowing heavily in Malvern for about 20 mins now (albeit at 800 feet ASL here), and is settling readily.

Another heavy prolonged snow shower in Aberdeen right now.

Very surprised to be getting a great snow shower at the moment, very heavy squall of soft hail now followed by heavy large flaked snow. complete cover of snow in just 10mins!

The showers seem to be getting a little further east and heading towards Swindon

Hving a heavy shower of large snow grains at present and they seem to be turning into flakes of snow.

Only been coming down for 3 mins so far and the grass is getting covered, but its melting on the road. Wasn't expecting anything today. Especially as the snow event for later this week seems to have been dismissed by the BBC forecasters.

Made a snowball

Sun came out fairly quickly after the storm stopped. Most of the snow gone now but it does give me faith for the rest of the week as we were not due to get anything till later in the week. A few more surprise showers like that and I will be an extremely happy bunny.

light to moderate snow and hail shower lasting 15 mins, no acumulation away from cars and some on the grass

Snowing hard here west of Swindon for past 10 minutes, settling on grass and cars. No sign of the end of the shower just yet. Much biger flakes now as I type, temp is 0.8C, was at 6C before the snow!
