It was the back edge stuff. Turned from sleet to wet snow for a time in Leeds, but didn't settle.

Wet snow falling here, temp' 1.3c.

Had a quick drive further up into the Peak District today. About 50% snow cover at 430 m on the Morridge Top road with drifts 60cm to 1m deep at the roadside. Above 460m the snow cover was about 80% and above 500m it was 100%.

Sleet was falling for the last 30 minutes here, dry now but overcast. Quite unexpected, to say I am very much at a lower level to many.

Back edge rain turned to sleet lower down in Stratos Vale, and snow up on the moor here. Only light and brief, and certainly not enought to settle. Quite rapid drop in temperature, 2C or so in around 15 mins.

Ice now in the dollops of rain falling on the window. Guess that means its sleeting, though you can't really tell from a straightforward lampost watch. Currently 2.8C.

Recently had some sleet for 10 minutes, then some heavy snow for 5 minutes, big flakes! Quite a surprise :D It has now stopped.

Fairly heavy snow falling here, although looking at the radar it doesn't look as if it will last too long before clearing. About 1cm of lying snow.
