Had some heavy showers today with hail and sleet mixed in.

Showers have turned more to snow in the last couple of hours, with a light dusting on grass, but still to wet to lie on roads and pavements.

This is a first: Skipton has disappeared. It's snowing somewhere: either that or the mother father and grand daddy of all holes has just opened up...sleet turning now to snow: gloopy big flakes.

30cm accumulated on the car roof then? But not quite settling on wet pavements? :)

Some more very wet snow here. Almost rain like.

Oh...... :)

Erm, not quite. Rain and sleet just doesn't flick my switch.

Now 50cm of level fluffy snow, that is better than, well, everything, even kebabs.

Well, now have fully fledged snow. Big flakes, driven on by a gusty breeze, and after about a couple of minutes of feathery excitement there's some white splodges on the car boot. Qualifies as a bit of a dumping by recent standards. Still, if this keeps up all night there should be a genuine sprinkling by morning.
