pretty much yellow, especially on sloped grass where ther is no water...has only rained for about 20mins in the past fortnight or so...no surprise really :p

Yeah it's the same here on the firmer areas of grass. All the golf courses are like Hoylake up here too - baked!

Grass is almost entirley grey and dead here, crunchy underfoot also, the only green patch is in the shade of the garage.

Even all the lawns I do down here are lush and green this summer. I do feed them well though and all the rain has greened them up nicely.

The trick is to get rid of the moss in Spring and/or Autumn and reseed patchy bits then feed and water throughout the summer.

Best year for grass for ages

Andy

Everything is lovely and green this year, the last to years with the really hot weather everything suffered. By the end of june even the trees looked like they were dying. The dry summer did turn into a lovely colourful autumn period though with striking color on most of the trees and woodland areas

Lovley and green here, so much better than last year's grey and crunchy lawn.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
