Light drizzle and just had a burst of snow grains for about 5 mins, just started to accumulate at edge of path then it stopped and all melted! :D Drizzle started up again, temp 3c.

quick question for anyone. does this ant sized ppn ever show up on the meto radar?

I think the answer is, as with any very slight ppn, very probably No!

btw - if anybody was reporting hail, well, your not quite right. It's more likely graupel (which is basically snowgrains passing thru super-cooled cloud droplets and loosing their crystal structure to become pellat form). This is distinct from the convective origin of hail and their harder composition.

Heavy graupel shower at 10:30am, then a light sleety flurry at 2pm.
