Two heavy snow showers this morning left a dusting for a while, with a strong northerly wind. A sleet shower just passed over, now dry and sunny.

Looks like 5-6cm to me.

Take my word for it sunshine!it's 5-6 inches! 5-6 cms is 2 inches! there's a lot more than that! sun's out now though and SLOW thaw setting in!

edit:- actually, just been out to measure the snow, and it's between 4-5 inches deep, but that's not accounting for any thaw as the sun has been quite strong here in the last hour! clouding up again to the north, maybe more on the way!

got tape measure set to 6 cm in this pic, and as you can see, there's about twice that amount!

A brief snow flurry was reported at Cleadon, Tyne & Wear at 7:30am this morning, but not heavy enough to make any impression.

Nothing in Leeds, but CB clouds did get surprisingly close to us this morning, having made it over the North York Moors.

For about two minutes around 10:50 there were a few isolated snow flakes/grains making it down to ground level out of a dark grey cloud over here in Leyton, East London. Not enough to do anything with, but definitely snow!
