Category: Level 2 Warning

Weather type: Thunderstorms and torrential rain

Affecting: Southern, Eastern and Central England

Time and Date Valid For: 13.00 Friday 9th September to 23.59 Saturday 10th September 2005

Time Of Issue: 17.45 Thursday 8th September 2005.

During Friday, instability across the above regions is likely to mean the development of heavy showers and storms. The shower/storms could lead to significant rainfall totals in places meaning localised flooding is possible. Frequent lightning and gusting winds are also possible.

Saturday again sees the same areas at risk of further heavy rain and storms with the same localised severe weather again possible.

Affecting: North midlands, Northern England, Northern Ireland, Southern Scotland

Time and Date Valid For: 20.00 Friday 9th September to 23.59 Saturday 10th September 2005

Time Of Issue: 16.30 Friday 9th September 2005.

An area of heavy rain is likely to develop during the evening tonight (friday) across The North Midlands and also in Northern Ireland. The area of rainfall in England will gradually move north overnight and throughout tomorrow. Rainfall totals in excess of 50mm are probable, so localised flooding is a risk.
