Time and Date Valid For: 06.00 Sunday 4th September to 23.59 Monday 5th September 2005

Time Of Issue: 16.40 Friday 2nd September 2005.

At the current time indications are that during Sunday 4th and into Monday 5th September there is potential for storms to develop widely across the regions above as a cold front encroaches across the country from the southwest.

There is still a great deal of uncertainty about the likely progress of the front and of the severity and distribution of any heavy rain and storms, so please keep track of any updates that are issued.

Time and Date Valid For: 13.00 Sunday 4th September to 23.59 Monday 5th September 2005

Time Of Issue: 13.15 Sunday 4th September 2005.

The next 36 hours sees a high risk of storms and heavy rainfall developing throughout much of England and Wales as a cold front progresses East across the country.

The most intense cells could produce medium hail, frequent lightning, gusting winds and torrential rainfall. The areas most likely to experience the most severe conditions are Central southern England, the South Midlands, East Anglia and parts of Southeast England (possibly excluding the far east).

Other areas not mentioned above whilst not considered to be at the highest risk, are still at risk of localised severe weather.
