Constant thunder here, but at a distance...humidity is cranking up, air has gone still and the birds have gone quiet (apart from the swifts who are having a field day! B) )

Second T-storm underway, far worse than the first with torrential rain, and a few nearby CG explosive cracks of thunder. The storms seem to be continually backbuilding so no sign of it clearing yet

TOLD YA SO.

STORM MADE NO EFFECT WHATSOEVER JUST A BIT OF THUNDER AND IS MOVING NORTH WEST SO THESE STORMS CAN GO ANYWHERE.

TRUST THE BRITISH WEATHER.

BUT THERE ARE HUNDREADS OF LIGHTNING BOLTS AND STORMS SPREADING UP FROM THE SOUTH AND IT LOOKS LIKE I COULD GET SOME AS THEY ARE IN MY DIRECTION.

HOPE YOU GUYS GET SOME MORE ACTIVITY SOON TOO.

AND LOOKS LIKE THERE ARE A LOT OF MEMBERS WATCHING ASWELL

Huge vicious storm just moved over Colchester moving north, lightning and huge sized hail the size of small squash balls, very scary!! Torrential rain as well, all in a space of 10/15minutes. Never seen a storm like that in such a small time frame!

Our work place (upstairs is flooded)!

That huge Essex/Suffolk storm is now to my west. Plenty of thunder, and looks like missing me, thankfully judging by reports so far!

Just had a small storm here in Northampton pass over at around 5pm, there was a fair few lightning strikes and several loud claps of thunder and torrential rain, to be honest I didn't see alot of it as I was in the gym. It has passed over now but I can still here the odd rumble in the distance. I hoping for more.

all quiet here in northamptonshire with the sun shining after the recent storm weve just had. There were some cracking bolts of lightening to be seen.

Last nights storm hit a bungalow in irchester which is the next village to me,plus a house in corby was hit.

There was some lightning last night at about ten at night.

There was also some loud thunder claps.

That is all though, and it has been cloudy all day today.

Crap region this.

2 storms for Colchester this afternoon, I am on the east side of Colchester.

1st storm, came from south and moved through north, increasing in intensity

Lightning and thunder approx. 2 to 3 per minute

High winds when passing over, torrential rain, looked very much "hurricane" fashion

1 burst pea sized hail of approx 2-3 minutes

1 burst large grape size hail, 2cm or a little larger of approx 2 minutes

Once storm passed updraught and small rotation observed on the back edge of the storm, though nothing formed specifically, very "ragged", this would have been over the Middlewick/Hythe area of Colchester for any other reports that come in of any significance.

2nd storm, same direction, this one seemed to build and intensify over my area

Slightly more intense lightning and thunder, 3 to 4 per minute at times

Little wind

No hail

Heavy rain

Dave
